Yaga® Man

No one party like that man can

That man be the Yaga Man

He party all night and all day

He party his whole life away

I tell you, Yaga, Yaga, Yaga Man

He party up mo’ bettah man

The outer island be his home

The island where the big wind blow

But he don’t fear no tropic storm

Oh no, the Yaga Man just party on

He party, party, party on

He party on the tropic storm

I tell you, Yaga, Yaga, Yaga Man

He party up mo’ bettah man

That why we love the Yaga Man

We bring him wine and we bring him beer

And that be why he let us here

He tell us party chilruns come to me

‘Cause I be where the party be

You bring wine and I bring me

And we’ll make party history

I tell you, Yaga, Yaga, Yaga Man

He party up mo’ bettah man

That why we love the Yaga Man

That why we love the Yaga Man

We love the way he come to play all day

That why we love the Yaga Man

Yaga, Yaga, Yaga Man

He party up mo’ bettah man, and

No one party like that man can

‘Cause that man be the Yaga Man

NOTES ON THIS SONG
I discovered this story on a wall in a restaurant in Galveston called, appropriately, “Yaga’s Café and Bar.”  It’s also a nightclub, one of the few in Galveston that presents live performances. Tell Mike, the owner, how you heard about his place on this Web site and how much you love the song. Let’s get some buzz going! Again, this song has been polished since this recording. I’m looking for a reggae band to own it. Nancy Dunn adds background vocals.
