Why, Baby, Why

There’s a question unanswered like an echo in my head

Ringing, why, Baby, why did you do what you did?

Why did you desert me without saying goodbye?

Were your trying to hurt me? Oh, why, Baby, why?

Why did you promise you would always be there

Then vanish with my heart like a thief running scared?

Why don’t you just face me, look me square in the eye

And say you don’t love me? Oh, why, Baby, why?

You refuse to talk to me, I don’t know why

You can’t even look at me when you pass me by

But if you ever cared at all then try, Baby, try

To give me an answer to why, Baby, why?

Could it be you still love me? Sometimes I hope so

But hoping don’t help with these questions, you know

‘Cause a question unanswered, like an echo, will die

And I feel like an echo dying, why, Baby, why?

You refuse to talk to me, I don’t know why

You can’t even look at me when you pass me by

But if you ever cared at all then try, Baby, try

To give me an answer to why, Baby, why?

I feel like an echo dying, why, Baby, why?

Why, Baby?

Why, Baby, why?

Why, Baby?

Why, Baby, why?

Why, Baby?

Why, Baby, why?

NOTES ON THIS SONG
This is one of those electric guitar songs that I would play a lot more often if I played my Stratocaster® more, but since I tend to pick up the acoustic and classical guitars first, these songs don’t get the attention some of the others do. The subject of this song is the subject of many other songs in this collection.
