A Hard Man Is Good To Find

(oo-wa, oo-wa, oo-wa-oo)

A hard man is good to find

A Cajun lady told that to me one time

And I told her back, Lady ‘bout that thing that you just said

Was you referring to my muscles or to my hard head?

And she just laughed (oo-wa, oo-wa, oo-wa-oo)

She laughed out loud (oo-wa, oo-wa, oo-wa-oo)

She said, “A hard man is good to find”

That Cajun lady said there ain’t no other kind

She said, “A soft man ain’t no man at all” and

Then she rubbed a crooked finger on her crystal ball

And she laughed (oo-wa, oo-wa, oo-wa-oo)

She laughed out loud (oo-wa, oo-wa, oo-wa-oo)

She laughed at me (oo-wa, oo-wa, oo-wa-oo, wa-oo)

A hard man is good to find

A hard man is good to find

A hard man is good to find

That’s what that Cajun lady told me

When she probed into my mind one time

She said, “I can look into your future

But it’s a little hard to see

Scooch a little bit closer, darling

Maybe I could catch a better read

Ooo, you do feel kinda hard to me”

A hard man is good to find

A hard man is good to find

A hard man is good to find

That’s what that Cajun lady told me

When she probed into my mind that time

She said, “A hard man is good to find

You don’t run across ‘em all the time

So when I got one, child, I make the most

‘Cause I for sure ain’t gonna got one

When I’m gone to my ghost”

(Ain’t that right) A hard man is good to find

(That’s for sure) A hard man is good to find

(I guarantee) A hard man is good to find

That’s what that Cajun lady told me

When she touched me on the mind that time

I liked her alright, except when she laughed

She was a pretty good time

For a little ole Cajun girl

Who thought she was reading my mind

NOTES ON THIS SONG
I met a woman from Louisiana who, during a conversation with me, turned this phrase around from the original, “A good man is hard to find.” She blushed several shades of color once she realized what she had said. I fell in love with the possibilities and this is what came out. This song is a duet, with a strong Cajun accent on the woman’s lines. So far I haven't found the perfect voice for the Cajun lady. Any ideas?
