Fools Fall in Love

Fools fall in love (we do, we do)

Fools fall in love (we do, we do)

Fools fall in love (we do, we do)

And I was a fool when I fell in love

I knew I was doomed, but still, I fell for you

‘Cause that’s what fools do (we do, we do)

Fools fall in love (we do, we do)

Fools fall in love (we do, we do)

And I was a fool to think I could be

The man that you’d love for an eternity

Oh, foolish me to think that could be

But  that’s what fools do (we do, we do)

Fools fall in love (we do, we do)

Fools fall in love (we do, we do)

Fools fall in love

And I was a fool, I acted uncool

I broke every rule when I fell for you

Yeah, I was a fool

But what else could I do

But what else could I do

With you falling for me

It was you who loved me

But that’s what fools do (we do, we do)

Fools fall in love (we do, we do)

Fools fall in love (we do, we do)

Fools fall in love

Oh, yeah, we do (we do, we do)

NOTES ON THIS SONG
Don Westmoreland and I were working on this song  in the mix and he sped up the double that I did on the chorus. I heard it and I loved it, so I asked him to engineer the song that way. You don’t hear much trickery in the production of these songs, but it is all over this one because I think it works. This song is another candidate for the Mulligans album project. It’s one of the songs from my “early” period.
