I Like Women

I like women and I like drinking

Yes, I like drinking my wine with my women

And having good times

So, I called a lady, my best special lady

I said, Hey whatcha doing tonight?

Let’s go get high and spin outa sight

Spin out of sight, you’re buying, right? right? right?

She came and got me in her worn out jalopy

And we cruised to our spot on the beach

Drank up the wine, she said it was peach

Well, it made me sick, so next time I’ll pick

I like women and I like drinking

Yes, I like drinking my wine with my women

And having good times

Rip-roaring times, roaring good times

Reach out and hold me, catch me I’m drunk and I’m lonely

But don’t take this babbling to heart

It’s just a tune that I heard on the harp

So don’t take to heart this silly old tune

Whoa, everything’s spinning around me

Somehow you’re sweet lips have found me

While the whole world is spinning around me

I’d love to love you, feeling like every part of you

‘Cause you’re looking so good ‘gainst the moon

Maybe I harped about harp tunes too soon

Maybe too soon. Whatcha think moon?

(Well, here’s what I think.)

I like women and I like drinking, unh-huh

Yes, I like drinking my wine with my women

And having good times

Rip-roaring times, roaring good times

I like women, but sometimes we do too much drinking

NOTES ON THIS SONG
Nancy Campbell Murello was a dear friend, nicknamed Sting because we went to that movie together. Nancy died in her late thirties from complications with diabetes. I miss Sting. She was a confidant and one of the few people who thought I should keep writing. I often remember you Sting, and I hope there is a measure of immortality for the two of us in this song, despite its political incorrectness. Peace.
