Uncle Sillybilly

My name is really Billy, but my nieces say I’m silly

So they tell me Sillybilly is my name

And when I try to protest they just laugh and say

No contest, we have voted, it’s official, note the change

No discussion, quit your fussin’, and don’t complain

From now on Uncle Sillybilly is your name

Well, I guess maybe I’m silly, I’m a little willy-nilly

And I do do things to make young children laugh, like that

But since it’s just a nickname, just a silly little kid game

Then  I guess I can pretend like I am  mad

’Cause there are other worser names a guy could have

Like billy goat and billy-boat

And Billy club and Billy Bug

Hillbilly, beachbilly

Billyfull and Billy Beer

And if I never hear ole Billy Boy (Oh, Billy Boy)

There’s a situation I might quite enjoy ‘cause

My name is simply Billy and I’m not sure I’m so silly

But my sillynilly nieces think I am (giggle, giggle)

Like when I make a booboo they start wiggling their tutus

They start giggling and whispering in their hands (giggle, giggle)

Such sillynilliness I’ll never understand (giggle, giggle)

My name is really Billy, but my nieces say I’m silly

So they tell me Sillybilly is my name

And when I try to protest they just laugh and say

No contest, we have voted, it’s official, note the change

No discussion, quit your fussin’, and don’t complain

From now on Uncle Sillybilly is your name

But don’t you worry, ‘cause we will love you just the same

But just the same, you have a very silly name

Sillybilly, Sillybilly

Uncle Sillybilly really is a singularly silly willy-nilly dilly of a silly name

But don’t you worry ‘cause we will love you just the same

Oh don’t you worry ‘cause we will love you anyway

‘Least that’s what all my sillynilly nieces say

(cha-cha-cha)

NOTES ON THIS SONG
This song is all because of Mae Ellen and Madalyn Marabella, my two youngest nieces. It’s written for them, Ana Cristina, Kelly Elizabeth and Amy Elizabeth. I love all my crazy nieces. Their spirits are all over this song. I love ‘em all. Madalyn sings background vocals along with Mardi Wareham and Jannie Ernst.
